In its efforts to "expedite the construction" of various rail lines in the state, such as the Ala. and Chattanooga Railroad and the South and North Ala. Railroad, the state of Ala. loaned its credit to these railroads through the issuance of bonds. This series consists of financial statements and contracts between the railroads and the state as well as transcriptions of bonds issued.
